Olly Coles, Red Tractor chicken farmer
Olly Coles is a second generation poultry farmer located on the edge of the Salisbury Plain producing chicken for Aldi. As well as running their own family farm, Olly and his wife Sally have grown their business to offer specialist services to other poultry farmers in the South West.
“We rear all of our chickens on our family farm which means they are cared for 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The birds have access to food, water and warmth which encourages them to express their natural behaviour. By sourcing British chicken, Aldi receive the very best in freshness and quality” said Olly Coles.
Being Red Tractor assured means poultry farmers like Olly have to adhere to standards in relation to animal welfare, environmental protection and food safety. Where you see the Red Tractor logo with the Union flag you can be confident that the product is traceable from farm to fork and has come from animals which are hatched, raised, processed and packed in the UK.
Glyn Trevorrow, Red Tractor Recruit looks for the Red Tractor logo as he knows it means good food at an affordable price: “I’ve grown my own veggies on my allotment for years so quality food which tastes good is important to me. I want to pay a good price for this and that’s why I also look for the Red Tractor logo whenever I buy my meat, and I am very happy with it”.
